One of the major developments that have occured in technology would be the use of microcomputers in schools. Students could work on computer activities to help teach them math and reading skills. Also it was important that students worked with techonology and stayed current with the computers. Computers were something new for students so it created a way to learn that was exciting and interesting.
The second major developments that have occured in technology would be the WorldWide Web. The WorldWide Web is known as the "Information Superhighway." The WWW combined text and graphics to improve learning. The WWW brough email, online multimedia, and videoconfernecing to teachers and students everywhere. This helped students research many things quickly and also brought about more distance learning.

2. Discuss one emerging trend in technology and the effect it could have on classrooms and schools.
Your Answer:
One emerging trend in technology would be visual immersion systems. This is a computer-generated environment that puts students in simulated worlds. This includes full immersion systems with head mounted displays, augmented reality systems and 3-D models on computer screens. This would really make students excited to learn because it is something extremelly new and exciting. It relates the subject to the students because the student feels like they are actually partaking in the event. I really think this system would take learning to a whole new level and that is very exciting.

3. Explain reasons for developing an electronic portfolio.

Electronic portfolios are ways that students can collect their work over time. They can be used to show others how their skills have developed and progressed. Also electronic portfolios are an easy way to showcase information because it is easy to match it up to a rubric. Electronic portfolios are are good to show their level of accomplishment in their field. They normally show more knowledge than an exam. Also portfolios can be good because students can use them to show their accomplishments when fighting for a job.
